Fake UPS Quantum View UPS Ship Notification, Tracking Number tries to deliver malware — 4 Comments

  1. Did SPF break or something? A mail server should have rejected them as fake (with a simple SPF lookup) before even making it to the end user. Looking’s SPF a few hours ago I just got an error. (it is working now)

    • All did fail SPF checks on my server. BUT like many other mail servers I cannot take a chance on legitimate mail being automatically rejected so SPF failures are not outright rejected but marked with a high enough spam score to be placed in quarantine for checking
About 10% of legitimate mail I receive from small businesses who use an external mail server not matching their domain ( outlook or Gmail mainly) does fail SPF checks.
