Invoice from simply carpets of Keynsham Ltd- Word doc malware — 15 Comments

  1. I too unfortunately opened attachment. I am using Windows 2007. It was blank when opened but did not ask for any further action. I ran the scan from eset as suggested and 31 warnings came up but I do not know whether they are related to this? What should I look for and what should I do now if I am infected? I ran an Avast scan too and that came up clean.
    Thanks

  2. Received similar email with word attachment on my iPad .unfortunately opened attachment. It was blank Googled Keynsham carpets where I saw your information. Will my iPad have become infected?if so what should I do? Thanks

    • Exactly as it says in the black box in the [post
At this time, these only affect windows computers. They do not affect a Mac, IPhone, Blackberry, Windows phone or Android phone. The malicious word or excel file can open on any system, and potentially the macro will run on windows or mac BUT the downloaded malware that the macro tries to download is windows specific, so will not harm or infect any other computer except a windows computer. You will not be infected if you do not have macros enabled in Excel or word.

    • there are no problems or worries on an iPhone
by replying, you have not put yourself at risk, but have just added yet another unwanted email to the innocent victims of this malware scam and made their life and work even harder

  3. Hi, we recently had our carpets cleaned and so I open this document by mistake thinking it could be them and as I open started to get suspecious about it so looked it up and arrived here. My word setting are already disable all macros with notification and I am currenly running a Norton scan and ESET scan to make sure. I have cleared my internet history as there was a something in there I found suspecious. Anything else I should do?

    Thanks
