Spoofed: T-mobile-Vodafone- Voice message – T-Mobile MMS Service- fake wav malware

My Online Security Posted on 13 December 2013 2:57 pm by Myonlinesecurity23 April 2014 10:42 am 2

Another set of password stealing malwares using the mobile phone companies MMS message/voice message subjects. These vary by the day and some days we get Upatre zbot downloaders. Other days a full blown pony or game over Zeus version. Some days we are getting an Androm version, so that tells us that different bot nets are re-using and copying the same emails to spread the malware 27 and 28 February 2014: today is a fake PDF inside the zip and subject suggests an image to look at. Lots of these today are slipping past spam filters. This is because the … Continue reading →

Booking.com – Booking confirmation – fake PDF malware

My Online Security Posted on 13 December 2013 7:48 am by Myonlinesecurity24 December 2013 10:29 pm

Another one from the current zbot runs which try to drop cryptolocker, ransomware  and loads of  other malware  on your computer. Most of these are using email addresses and subjects that are appropriate for the time of year. Currently many of the emails are either about undelivered packages or invoices or payment advice for online shopping. All subjects that we would expect to receive in emails at this time of year. The other major common subjects are: Tax returns, (where especially in UK, you need to submit your Tax Return online before 30th December each year), Airline Tickets and Holiday bookings. … Continue reading →

My Online Security Posted on 12 December 2013 7:28 am by Myonlinesecurity7 February 2014 5:14 pm

Following on from Yesterdays mass spam run spoofing FedEx where they asked you to click on a link to verify identity, Today has gone back to the old pattern of attaching a zip file and asking you to open the zip file and fill in the documents. Update 7 February 2014: the malware purveyors are now using a method of adding the recipients details into both the email and the attachment name The subject normally says: ATTN: Important information See also https://myonlinesecurity.co.uk/spoofed-british-airways-your-flight-ticket-is-not-activated-yet-fake-pdf-malware/ which carries the same malware as this FedEx spam. My Online Security Posted on 11 December 2013 4:38 pm by Myonlinesecurity12 February 2015 10:39 am 4

This email  saying Scanned Image from a Xerox WorkCentre pretends  to come from your own domain but in reality is yet another one from the current bot runs which try to drop cryptolocker, ransomware  and loads of  other malware  on your computer. They appear to come from your own domain but aren’t. We will see this sort of attempt with the increased use of web based printing and scanning. A lot of domestic devices can be set to print/scan etc from a wireless device or your cell phone and can be set to send an email to your main account … Continue reading →
